Volleyball Recap: Grape Creek Falls to Christoval in First Game of Season

Grape Creek unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Christoval Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Grape Creek took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-11, 15-4.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christoval to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Haley, who had seven digs and three aces.

Looking ahead, Grape Creek is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christoval, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Paint Rock at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
