North Raleigh Christian Academy suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers

After flying high against the Oak Forest Warriors last Tuesday, the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights came back down to earth. North Raleigh Christian Academy lost to Durham Academy on the road by a decisive 65-47 margin on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to North Raleigh Christian Academy of the 85-61 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

North Raleigh Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cody Dickerson, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Brennen Jefferson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, North Raleigh Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham Academy only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Durham Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Dorsette II, who scored 12 points along with six assists. PJ Jeffries was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Durham Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will challenge Cary Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Cary Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three matchups. As for Durham Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Ravenscroft at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
