Basketball Game Preview: College Park Falcons vs. Pittsburg Pirates

The College Park Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Pittsburg Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. College Park is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

On Thursday, College Park had just enough and edged Alhambra out 55-53.

College Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miles Cooper led the charge by putting up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Barnett, who posted 17 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pittsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 73-65 win over Las Lomas on Saturday.

Pittsburg's win came from a few key players College Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jermaine Earnest, who went 8 of 14 en route to 16 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Terrance Wiley was another key player, going 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points along with eight boards and five assists.

College Park pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Pittsburg, their record now sits at 12-9.

College Park came up short against Pittsburg when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 84-80. Can College Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
