Basketball Recap: Tristan Williams Key Part of Team Effort in Gators Win

The Laurel Gators were able to grind out a solid victory over the Avon Lake Shoremen on Saturday, taking the game 47-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.

Laurel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Williams, who posted 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Williams' third in a row with at least 16 points. Jordyn Meyer was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Laurel will be playing in front of their home fans against Hiland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Avon Lake, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Avon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Shoremen their first taste of in-conference action this season.
