Basketball Recap: Kemp Takes a Loss

Kemp lost against Van back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kemp Yellowjackets were outmatched by the Van Vandals and fell 69-39. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-12.

Kemp lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emma Bailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Bailey a new career-high in assists (five). Allie Pringle was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Kemp dropped their record down to 6-17 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Van, they moved to 11-16 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Kemp will face off against Lindale at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Van, they will square off against Athens at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Van is facing Athens at the right time seeing as Athens is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
