Soccer Game Preview: Clear Creek vs. Gilpin County

The Clear Creek Golddiggers will square off against the Gilpin County Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clear Creek's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Clear Creek lost 6-1 to Estes Park on Tuesday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Clear Creek were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, Gilpin County hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They and Flatirons Academy finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Gilpin County's first draw of the season.

Clear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. Gilpin County's draw gives them a new season record of 8-0-1.

Clear Creek might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Gilpin County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Golddiggers were down 4-1.
