Baseball Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

Eastern managed to slip by McKinley Tech the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Ramblers came up short against the Trainers on Wednesday, falling 13-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Finnian Burns got Eastern off to a strong start despite the final result, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Burns has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Lucas Campbell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Eastern has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for McKinley Tech, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Eastern will head out to take on Mount Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McKinley Tech, they will welcome Bell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trainers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Griffins have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
