Recap: Sanford Warriors vs. Salesianum Sallies
After a string of seven wins, the Sanford Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salesianum. Sanford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Salesianum apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Sanford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Taylor. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Stephen Conway was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Sanford's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Salesianum, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sanford will take on St. Andrew's at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sanford's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches. As for Salesianum, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Howard at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
