Soccer Recap: Randolph Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Randolph had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand the Dover Tigers a 2-0 shutout on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Randolph's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Dover are ranked 53rd).

The victory made it two in a row for Randolph and bumps their season record up to 15-4-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Dover, they moved to 13-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, Randolph will take on Tenafly on Tuesday. Randolph will need to watch out since Tenafly have now posted at least four goals in their last three matchups. Dover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
