Football Recap: Robert C. Byrd Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Robert C. Byrd rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 36-28 win over the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Polar Bears back in September, they had to take a 35-9 loss.

Isaiah Heflin was his usual excellent self, rushing for 101 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 113 yards and one TD on only nine passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. Robert C. Byrd's leading receiver Junior Smith was Heflin's top target yet again, picking up 47 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one rushing score.

Robert C. Byrd now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Fairmont Senior, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.

As of now, neither Robert C. Byrd nor the Polar Bears have any future games scheduled.
