Softball Game Preview: Waldron Leaves Home

The Waldron Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Pittsford Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

While Spartans fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They had just enough and edged Tekonsha out 10-8.

Waldron's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Pittsford, they've got a clean slate. Last season, they struggled throughout, finishing with a less-than-stellar 0-4 record.

Waldron was able to grind out a solid victory over Pittsford when the teams last played back in May of 2015, winning 14-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waldron since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
