Basketball Recap: Chrisman Cardinals vs. Heritage Hawks
Chrisman had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it seven. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 56-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.
As for Heritage, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Heritage can attribute much of their success to Clark Roland, who posted 14 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Roland also grabbed four steals, which is notable because the Hawks are 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 0-3 otherwise. Kale McComas also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Chrisman will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 11:30 a.m. on the 26th. As for Heritage, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-58 loss against Schlarman on the 8th.
