Basketball Recap: Buna's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Buna unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 54-42 to the Orangefield Bobcats. The Cougars were down 49-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Buna's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madisyn Cotten, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Branch, who had 13 points and seven steals.

Buna's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Orangefield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Buna will head out to square off against Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Buna surely won't give up without a fight. As for Orangefield, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Orangefield Bobcats challenge the Anahuac Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Anahuac has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while Orangefield will come in with five straight victories.
