Dantley Walker gives verbal commitment to UNLV basketball

Small-school guard leads nation in three categories and now has committed to a big-time college.
Dantley Walker has realized his Division I dream by accepting a basketball scholarship from the nearby University of Nevada Las Vegas and will sign in April, his father, Greg, told MaxPreps today.

The 5-foot-11 senior guard from
Lincoln County (Panaca, Nev.) leads the nation in points, 3-point baskets and free throw percentage. He ranks No. 6 in scoring average (35.6) and assist average (10.4).
Walker's 73-point game earlier this month is believed to be the highest output in the country this year.
