Volleyball Recap: Kimberly's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Kimberly couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Appleton North Lightning on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss two weeks ago.

Alex Krause paced Kimberly's offense, picking up 17 kills. Krause got some help from Blake Zielinski and his 43 assists. Finally, Krause was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Kimberly moved to 26-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Appleton North, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-7 record this season.

Kimberly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Appleton North, they will face off against Middleton on Wednesday.
