Baseball Game Preview: Wilson Wildcats vs. Northview Vikings

For the second straight game, Wilson will face off against Northview. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Northview will come in with three straight wins.

Northview hit Wilson with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 12-2 to the Vikings.

For Northview's part, Marcos Luna tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, Luna posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Fernando Casas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jayden Chagollan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wilson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Northview, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
