Baseball Game Preview: Hampshire Whip-Purs vs. Rockford Auburn Knights

The Hampshire Whip-Purs will square off against the Rockford Auburn Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hampshire's offense. They fell just short of Lincoln-Way West by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Whip-Purs' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Hampshire's defeat dropped their record down to 26-8. As for Rockford Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 3-23.

Rockford Auburn's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Hampshire has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game.
