Soccer Game Preview: American Heritage vs. Somerset Academy - Canyons

The American Heritage Stallions will square off against the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

American Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against FAU High as American Heritage made off with a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit FAU High with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Montgomery Byers, Oliver Pierro, Mateo Kurkcuoglu, and Ryan Ashley.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy - Canyons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past North Broward Prep 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Somerset Academy - Canyons now has a winning record of 7-6-2. As for American Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 7-3-3.

American Heritage beat Somerset Academy - Canyons by a goal when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for American Heritage since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
