Softball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against American Leadership Academy last Thursday, Juan Diego Catholic came back down to earth. The Soaring Eagle lost 12-5 to the Providence Hall Patriots on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Soaring Eagle in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Mattie Montoya and Sarah Fiore stepped up to the plate in a big way. Montoya scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Fiore scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Juan Diego Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Providence Hall, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juan Diego Catholic will face off against Judge Memorial Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Soaring Eagle are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Providence Hall, they will square off against Carbon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
