Softball Recap: King City Find Success

King City won the last time they faced Soledad and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Aztecs by a score of 11-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Alizah Carrillo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Carrillo was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Crystal Paramo and Avery Munoz did most of the damage at the plate: Paramo went 4-for-5 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Munoz went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Paramo has posted since back in June of 2025. Another player making a difference was Katia Slama, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

King City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

King City now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Soledad, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

King City has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Greenfield on the 14th. As for Soledad, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-11 victory against Everett Alvarez on the 14th.
