Hope snaps three-game streak of wins at home

It was a good run, but the Hope Blue Wave unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Johnston 49-45. Hope has not had much luck with Johnston recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Hope's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jorday Johnson, who scored 18 points. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sa-moni McKay, who scored 12 points.

Johnston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayanah Rollins led the charge by scoring 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rollins has scored at least a third of Johnston's points. Ava Waterman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Hope's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Johnston, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
