Basketball Game Preview: Pioneer Panthers vs. Knox Redskins

The Pioneer Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Knox Redskins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knox took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pioneer, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pioneer beat North Judson-San Pierre 34-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Knox lost to Trinity Greenlawn at home by a 51-36 margin on Thursday. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pioneer will have to contain Myles Mclaughlin as he made an impact in Knox's last game. He went 7 for 13 to rack up 18 points. Mclaughlin's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Cain Weber, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Pioneer was able to grind out a solid win over Knox when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 45-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pioneer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
