Baseball Recap: Hudson Blue Hawks vs. Saugerties Sawyers
Hudson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-6 to the Saugerties Sawyers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hudson of the 10-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.
Antonio Troy and Besham Burgess stepped up to the plate in a big way. Troy scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Burgess went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a triple.
Hudson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Saugerties, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Hudson will head out on the road to square off against Taconic Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Taconic Hills is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, so Hudson will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Saugerties will take on Wallkill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wallkill will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Saugerties surely won't give up without a fight.
