Basketball Game Preview: Cahokia Comanches vs. Belleville West Maroons

Having just played yesterday, the Cahokia Comanches will jump right back in to play the Belleville West Maroons at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Cahokia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season.

Cahokia is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Marist on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cahokia had to suffer through a 85-40 loss at the hands of Marist. The Comanches were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-16.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Corrion Raiford, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cornelius Griffin, who posted 11 points and six boards.

Belleville West has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Cardinal Ritter College Prep 63-33 on Thursday.

Cahokia's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Belleville West, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Cahokia might still be hurting after the 69-47 loss they got from Belleville West in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. Can Cahokia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
