Basketball Game Preview: Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers vs. Pine Bluffs Hornets

Lingle-Fort Laramie and Pine Bluffs are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers will head out on the road to face off against the Pine Bluffs Hornets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lingle-Fort Laramie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Lingle-Fort Laramie is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Guernsey-Sunrise 74-21. With the Doggers ahead 39-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Skyla Wunder was her usual excellent self, going 6-for-14 to rack up 16 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 17 games she's played. Charlotte Speckner was another key player, going 6-for-9 on her way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Pine Bluffs strolled past Niobrara County with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-37. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Lingle-Fort Laramie pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Pine Bluffs, their record now sits at 16-6.

Lingle-Fort Laramie lost to Pine Bluffs on the road by a decisive 60-45 margin when the teams last played on February 1st. Can Lingle-Fort Laramie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
