Basketball Game Preview: Gibault Catholic Hawks vs. Staunton Bulldogs

The Gibault Catholic Hawks will take on the Staunton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Gibault Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Staunton will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Gibault Catholic beat Chester 49-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Karmon Grohmann continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 33 points and nine boards. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Hope Chambers, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Gibault Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Staunton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 49-44 to Gillespie.

Staunton's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Gibault Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
