Volleyball Recap: Community Christian Comes Up Short

Community Christian was the 3-0 winner over Madison County when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell 3-1 to the Cowboys on Friday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Community Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-19, 25-17, 25-21.

Kallie Mathison paced Community Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Mathison got some help from Sarah Bradley and her 20 assists. Mathison was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Community Christian's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Madison County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Community Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Wakulla Christian School on the 29th. As for Madison County, they will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
