Volleyball Recap: Bourne's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

After flying high against Apponequet Regional on Wednesday, Bourne came back down to earth. The Canalmen fell just short of the East Bridgewater Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The loss put an end to the Canalmen's undefeated start to the season.

Bourne took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 17-15.

Nola Timo paced Bourne's offense, picking up 18 kills. Timo got some help from Sofia Halunen and her 21 assists. Timo also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lily Russell, racking up five apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bourne fell to 5-1. As for East Bridgewater, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Bourne will head out to take on Case at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Bridgewater, they will face off against Cohasset at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
