Basketball Recap: Homer Trojans vs. Concord Yellowjackets
Homer lost against Concord back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Homer Trojans came up short against the Concord Yellowjackets, falling 57-35. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 119th).
Concord got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Thorrez out in front who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Thorrez is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last five games she's played. Bradie Lehman was another key player, going 6-for-12 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.
Homer has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. The victory (which was Concord's fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
Homer has already played their next contest (against Hillsdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Concord does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
