Basketball Game Preview: New Bremen Cardinals vs. Versailles Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the New Bremen Cardinals challenge the Versailles Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Bremen will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Fort Loramie, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. New Bremen came out on top against Fort Loramie by a score of 39-30 on Saturday. The 39-point effort marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Versailles put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging an 80-36 victory over Greeneview. With the Tigers ahead 46-22 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Versailles pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for New Bremen, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

New Bremen came up short against Versailles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 48-36. Can New Bremen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
