West Jordan has gone 7-2 against Kearns recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Jaguars will head out to challenge the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Jordan has four straight wins, Kearns has 18 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
West Jordan proved they can win big on Friday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Timpanogos 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted since March 15th.

Ethan Baldwin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Brock Litchfield was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
West Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Kearns lost 11-1 to Cyprus on Friday.
Kearns saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyrik Bandera, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Carson Evans also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
West Jordan's record now sits at 16-3. As for Kearns, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.
Kearns' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Jordan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Kearns, though, as they've been averaging 12.5 hits. Given West Jordan's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
West Jordan took their win against Kearns in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
