Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield Cougars vs. Middlebury Tigers

Mt. Mansfield is on a three-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Middlebury is on a seven-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Cougars will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Mt. Mansfield's victory against Missisquoi Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand the Thunderbirds a 2-0 shutout on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Middlebury had to kick off their season on the road two weeks ago, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Otter Valley as they made off with a 19-6 win.

Mt. Mansfield took their victory against Middlebury in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
