Baseball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

Southside fell victim to Southwest and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Southside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseth Aguirre, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Southside now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Southwest, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southside is set to square off against their familiar foe Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southwest will face off against rival South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 3.2, the Bobcats 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
