Softball Recap: Roosevelt Has No Trouble Against Robbinsdale Cooper

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Richfield, Roosevelt was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Teddies, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Wohnoutka made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Eloisa Lysne was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ricaya Whitmore, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Robbinsdale Cooper, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Roosevelt will welcome Washburn at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Robbinsdale Cooper, they will challenge Academy of Holy Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
