Soccer Game Preview: Fort Defiance vs. Waynesboro

The Fort Defiance Indians will head out to take on the Waynesboro Little Giants at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Fort Defiance came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Riverheads, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for Fort Defiance in their meetings with Riverheads: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Waynesboro waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Bison get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Waynesboro might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

Waynesboro's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Fort Defiance, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-2.

Fort Defiance might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Waynesboro when the teams last played back in April. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
