Basketball Game Preview: Itawamba Agricultural Indians vs. Wheeler Eagles

The Itawamba Agricultural Indians and the Wheeler Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Itawamba Agricultural is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Okolona just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Chieftains. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chieftains 15-10 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, everything went Wheeler's way against Falkner on Monday as Wheeler made off with a 68-48 victory. Wheeler has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Wheeler is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Itawamba Agricultural, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Itawamba Agricultural was able to grind out a solid win over Wheeler in their previous matchup back in January, winning 50-40. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wheeler's Bailee Moore, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.
