Football Recap: Stillwater Warriors vs. Cambridge/Salem
Stillwater lost against Cambridge/Salem back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors came up short against Cambridge/Salem, falling 33-7. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.
Aidan Callanan threw for 72 yards and one TD. John Williams was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Ryan Brown rushed for 39 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cambridge/Salem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steven Yakubec, who threw for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in two rushing scores. Cambridge/Salem also got a significant boost from Abraham Cushing, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
Stillwater's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cambridge/Salem, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
