Softball Recap: Arleta Comes Up Short

Arleta had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 9-15 to make it six. They fell just short of the Verdugo Hills Dons by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in April.

Arleta saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JUSTINE MEJIA, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Verdugo Hills, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 9, 2024.

On Verdugo Hills' side, Madesyn Meadows spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. Meadows has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
