Basketball Recap: Morrice Comes Up Short

Morrice played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 53-30 to the Genesee Wolves. The Orioles have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Averie Zinn was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 31 points and nine steals for Genesee. Zinn has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 33 times she's played. Autumn Simpson was another key player, putting up six points along with 12 rebounds and five steals.

Morrice's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Genesee, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrice will head out to square off against Livingston Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genesee, they will head out on the road to take on Memphis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
