Football Recap: Chattanooga Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Tyner Academy

Chattanooga Prep scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tyner Academy Rams. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Rams are ranked 26th).

Chattanooga Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Cedric Baulding led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He has been hot, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last six times he's played. Marquis Gardner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Chattanooga Prep and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Tyner Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Chattanooga Prep will face off against Battle Ground Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Sentinels' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Tyner Academy, they will take on Nashville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
