After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Freedom, Cypress Creek was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Gateway Panthers 3-0. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
One reason for the win was Cypress Creek's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-14.
Franklin Calix paced Cypress Creek's offense, picking up eight kills. Calix got some help from Kidiel Maldonado and his 24 assists. Jessiel Perez controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Cypress Creek's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Gateway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
