Basketball Recap: Central Cabarrus Skates Past South Rowan with Ease

Central Cabarrus won the last time they faced South Rowan and things went their way on Friday too. The Central Cabarrus Vikings took their match with ease, bagging a 71-43 win over the South Rowan Raiders. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Raiders are ranked 611th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Cabarrus was led to victory by Cayden Smith and Infinite Morrow. Smith went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Morrow went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. Those five assists gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Cook, who posted nine points and five assists.

The victory got Central Cabarrus back to even at 10-10. As for South Rowan, their defeat was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.

Central Cabarrus will host Lake Norman Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Norman Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for South Rowan, they will venture away from home to face off against East Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Rowan is facing East Rowan at the right time seeing as East Rowan is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
