Volleyball Game Preview: Pioneer Valley Christian Eagles vs. Frontier Regional Red Hawks

After both having extra time off, the Pioneer Valley Christian Eagles and the Frontier Regional Red Hawks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Pioneer Valley Christian barely beat Athol the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

While Pioneer Valley Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.

Frontier Regional not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22nd (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Granby as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.

Frontier Regional never let Granby on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-19.

Pioneer Valley Christian better focus on containing Ethan Rivera and Evan Maio as the pair were huge in Frontier Regional's win. Rivera had nine digs, while Maio had seven digs and two assists.

Frontier Regional's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Pioneer Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
