Basketball Game Preview: South County Stallions vs. Richwoods Knights

The South County Stallions will take on the Richwoods Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South County is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Alexandria City just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Titans are ranked 286th).

Meanwhile, Richwoods unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 64-48 to Peoria.

South County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Richwoods, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
