Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Franklin-Simpson's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Franklin-Simpson won the last time they faced Todd County Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Rebels. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Max Wren looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Boy Blanckenberg was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Turner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Franklin-Simpson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Todd County Central struck out 11 times.

Franklin-Simpson has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Todd County Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin-Simpson will venture away from home to take on Warren East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Todd County Central, they will head out to square off against Warren Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
