Softball Game Preview: West Anchorage Eagles vs. Kenai Central Kardinals

The West Anchorage Eagles will head out to square off against the Kenai Central Kardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

West Anchorage can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Wednesday. They came up short against Service, falling 11-4. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kenai Central not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024 (when they won 16-2). They put the hurt on Houston with a sharp 16-4 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Kardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

The team relied heavily on Kailey Stynsberg, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Blakeley Jorgensen, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
