Baseball Recap: Essex Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Essex won against West Point on Wednesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Essex beat West Point by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-2. The Trojans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kyran Howard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Howard was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Noah Thompson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hunter Byrd was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Essex pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 9.9 runs thus far As for West Point, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Essex will venture away from home to challenge Middlesex at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Essex is facing Middlesex at the right time seeing as Middlesex is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Point, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on April 9.
