Victory Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Discovery, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Storm blew past the Spartans 9-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Storm have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Collin Strickland, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylon Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
Victory Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Discovery only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Lakeland Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against McKeel Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fin Donay was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Maclain Irby made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mookie Rodriguez, who went 4-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
Victory Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Lakeland Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Victory Christian Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Storm have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lakeland Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Victory Christian Academy continue to outrun the ball?
Victory Christian Academy suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Lakeland Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
