Recap: Douglas Patriots vs. Red Cloud Crusaders
The Douglas Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 73-38 loss at the hands of Red Cloud. Douglas has struggled against Red Cloud recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Red Cloud found their leader in underclassman Ashlan Carlow-Blount, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Carlow-Blount is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jodene Hunter, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Douglas' defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Red Cloud, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglas will take on Rapid City Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rapid City Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Red Cloud, they will head out on the road to square off against Lead-Deadwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Cloud is facing Lead-Deadwood at the right time seeing as Lead-Deadwood is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
