Soccer Recap: Wayne Christian Comes Up Short

Wayne Christian lost against Greenfield on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles came up short against the Knights, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Wayne Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Greenfield are ranked 117th).

Wayne Christian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Greenfield, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-5.

Coming up, Wayne Christian will head out to challenge Harrells Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harrells Christian Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Wayne Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenfield, they will be playing at home against Wayne Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
